Wish You Were Here
January 8 – February 24, 2016
Opening: January 8th from 6-8pm
Ron Weis works with the landscape genre and test the boundaries of what is real, imagined and imbued. His small oil paintings on paper mounted to aluminum are 5” x 6 1/8”–roughly postcard sized. Ron’s painted bucolic mountain scenes are intended as imagined experiences, which carry the same weight as a fond memory. His work takes form as the romanticism of reverie about one’s footprint in the great outdoors. The staged splendor harkens back to a time of innocence in vacation travel of the 1950’s when nature was perceived as a pure and nonthreatening place of charming allure.
